The Patriots overcame a 12 point deficit in the 3rd quarter to beat the New York Giants 38-35 completing the first Undefeated 16 game regular season. The Patriots broke the single season record for points with 582 previously held by the 1998 Vikings with 556. Tom Brady threw his 50th touchdown to pass Peyton Manning for most in a season and Randy Moss broke Jerry Rice’s single season record by catching his 23rd score on the same play. That touchdown gave the Patriots the lead for good, which clinched the only 16-0 regular season in the history of the National Football League. The Patriots also set a league mark with 75 touchdowns. New England overcame four touchdown passes by Eli Manning and a kickoff return for a touchdown by Domenik Hixon. Although the Patriots fell short against the Giants in SuperBowl XLII, they still had a memorable season. The 2007 Patriots will go down as one of the best regular season teams of all time.
